The Web is Helping Out Personal Lives
As far as the Internet is concerned, it has now become more of a simple reference for getting information. It has now gone as far as helping us interact, enjoy and even help at times when our health is not as good as it should be.
The Internet is really continuing to evolve. And there is no stopping new technology to set in as it has covered all bases from personal to business needs. With that in mind, do not be surprised if everyone has a gadget in hand. We are relying heavily on technology and hopefully it will always be there to assist us.
Making Sales on the Web
If you are having trouble marketing an selling stuff in the real world, why not try using a different medium such as the web. Online buying and selling has been the new age of doing business and apparently many people are getting hooked to it as well.
Just consider the fact that you don’t have to move from one place to another and just look at the item if it is indeed what you are looking for. If not go to another item. In summary, it is your finger tips that are doing the walking. It doesn’t get any better than that.
New OS, Love it? Nope!
People used to jump onto new stuff like bees to honey but in today’s recession wrecked world, that may not be the case. With Microsoft announcing the release of their new and hopefully improved operating system, people weren’t actually jumping up and down with joy, but with trepidation that they’d have to shell out a couple hundred more bucks just to keep their computers running. As if Microsoft has learned from the failure of Vista, they have again tempted fate by coming up with a new OS to replace Vista. The catch, it doesn’t always work with computers that run XP good so many are gonna stay away from Win 7 for sure. Continue Reading »
The Web – When will it End
Never, or till somebody pulls the plug and drives the world into chaos, out of Twitter and their other social affiliations. As of 2007, there was already a record number of 155 billion web sites on record, and the buck didn’t stop there for who knows how many more have been added to this day. The internet is getting better but also older at the same time. Many of the hardware that fails has been replaced but with respect to cabling and other hardware which represents billions of dollars of investment, the same may not be true. Sure, servers have been hot-swapped, replaced, upgraded and more but the cabling which lies under the sea or underground is a bit harder to deal with, requiring a lot of investment. Gadgets may be getting smaller and smarter but have you noticed they have also gotten a whole lot tougher. gadgets and gizmos for every environment are now available, enough to withstand the rugged ways we use and take them. Apple’s iPhone 3GS
The company has managed to garner success with their previous two models but this new installment is not getting too good a reception with minimal improvements and even some newly surfacing over-heating issues that are slowly filtering into the many bulletin and discussion boards that tackles the product. There was an issue with previous models but with the newer model it seems a bit too much. There is also an issue with apps developers who are very much slow to catch up to maximize the new and improved abilities of the 3G iPhone. Continue Reading »
Twitter More Than Just Social
Twitter is becoming more and more a household name, bringing the death of Michael Jackson out to most and organizing protests in Iran but there is one developing use for the micro-blogging site that is sweeping the business world, customer support. Much like call centers, the micro-blogging site has allowed businesses to communicate with customers in real-time, when they don’t have access to their desktops and laptops. This and many other uses for the blogging phenomenon that has taken mainstream business application makes the world easier for most of us and more should be expected to come as the world takes to the cloud, if they manage to get over the many other hurdles that have to be ironed out. Facebook: More than a social network site
We all know what social network sites are. The term social network is not a new term, not a new idea. But it’s really the way people take an old idea and make it into something new is what really takes the cake.

Online social network Facebook is more than just a social network site where you interact with friends; in fact, Facebook’s real pull isn’t because of its smooth layout and easy user interface, but its countless applications.
Facebook is studded with hundreds of applications (mostly mini games) that attract people of all ages. There are also online quizzes that measure IQ, personality and general information. There are also fan pages for almost anything from Milk to Bradd Pitt. These plethora of extras and add ons is what puts the site above its competitors and peers.
VoIP – Bot net Haven
Seems the lowly bot net is shifting focus to VoIP software that it manages to hijack and use as propagation method as well as for stealing information. Botnets have long been pursued and have even been found to exist on stand-alone units that have been running continuously for more that 10 years. These malware can do anything from hijacking the victim computer or like more traditional malware, they cam corrupt data, steal it and send it to their makers for criminal activity use.

Jjot

A few days to go and the New Year is upon us, and it’s time to brainstorm on what possible resolutions we’re going to keep.Where better to take those ideas down but at Jjot?
Jjot is a lightning fast sticky note web application filled with smart features like archiving, search, and sharing. Jjot is very easy to use and understand (which is nice when you’re tackling any new web application), but what really stands out about Jjot is its speed. Everything you do on Jjot is satisfyingly snappy, which is so refreshing in an age of bloated web apps. Granted, Jjot’s speed might not be enough to make it stand out in the already overcrowded online note-taking and todo applications, but it’s on my good list.
